With the aging of the Baby Boomers, there is a greater awareness of the need for
residential spaces to adapt to changing needs. This challenge is particularly evident
in the design of kitchens and bathrooms. Along with reviewing the accessibility
guidelines for universally designed kitchens and baths, this course also answers
the question: "what products are on the market that help us create kitchens and
baths that are unlimited by design?"
Cost: $75/$125 for both sessions, a $25 savings

Inside every older person is a young one wondering "what happened"? -- Make certain as they age that your clients can spend more time enjoying life and laughing at age-related jokes, not being constantly challenged by the limitations their home puts on them. The home is often our largest investment -- shouldn't it work for us and not against us? With the aging of the "Baby Boomer" we will be seeing an even larger number of people whose desire is to remain as long as possible in their own homes. What are we as design professionals doing to help them achieve this goal? The seminar, "Unlimited by Design: Products for the Kitchen and Bathroom", addressed those two areas, but what about the "Rest of the House"? This course reviews the needs of the aging client in the "Rest of the House", and how the designer and architect can meet those needs -- whether for the client's use or for aging relatives who may be living with them. What possible future needs are not being met in their current housing, design layout, or furnishings? What products are on the market that we can specify enabling them to maintain or achieve their goal of independence? This course will answer these questions.
Cost: $75/$125 for both sessions, a $25 savings
