Robert Peña teaches architectural design and environmental control systems courses with an emphasis on ecological design and high-performance buildings. The focus of his professional and academic work spanning the last 30 years has been environmental stewardship and resource conservation through the promotion of ecoliteracy and high performance building design. Robert feels teaching and architectural practice are a means of cultivation and applying this work. Returning to professional practice on a regular basis has been a means of keeping his teaching relevant to architectural practice and a vehicle to apply his academic research to built projects.
